    • A Caged Bird Sings The Friends of Moggerhanger House 19:30 - 23:55 Fri, 20 Jun 2014

The Caged Bird Sings should be an excellent evening. A bespoke concert devised by soprano and historian Jane Troughton. Jane is studying for a doctoral thesis on 'The Role of Music in Yorkshire Country Houses 1770 - 1850', with the University of York, Department of Music. She has given lectures and performed recitals, to great acclaim, at Temple Newsam House (part of Leeds City Art Galleries) as well as in the Picture Gallery at Castle Howard and the John Vanbrugh - designed house used as the setting for the Brideshead Revisited TV series and film.

Her programme of music has been specially devised for this evening, to reflect the lives of Georgian women, the era in which Moggerhanger House was built.

Ticket price includes Pimms and Canapes.
